the “new” Public News

I neglected to post a link to last week’s Dilettante. Here ’tis. I was bummed that no one posted a comment – I thought perhaps no one remembered or gave a shit about the original Public News. Then I found a few links to the Dilettante column on other websites. Here’s one. I was relieved to see that I wasn’t the only person who was not impressed with the “Public News.” Thus far, it’s suburbanized, sanitized, genericized, pedestrianized and pretty much the complete opposite of the too-cool-for-school original (real) Public News. I certainly hope they pull it together and get some better writers or at least a better editor (here’s a tip: it’s = it is or it has, its = possessive). Houston needs as many small, independently owned media outlets as possible.
